The Global Book Alliance is delighted to announce that one of its flagship initiatives, the Global Digital Library (GDL), is now supporting book printing on a new level.
Over 500 high quality files are now available to download and print from the GDL. The print-ready files include the front and back covers and all interior pages with high resolution illustrations – everything needed to create a physical book!
The GDL print repository currently offers print-ready files in 23 languages, including languages used in a number of countries in Africa and Asia, in addition to its bridge language, English. Titles include contributions from partners, including government-approved books for classrooms as well as supplementary reading materials.
This is a great leap in the direction of making high quality books available to all children. Expect to hear more as the GDL expands printing options and makes this process even more accessible.
The GDL is funded by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation and currently offers over 4000 titles in more than 50 languages.
